If your otherwise trusting cat suddenly hides under furniture and blankets, she may be stressed or scared.
“Cats are naturally shy and love to find places where they can curl up for long naps,” said Arndt. “But if your cat suddenly hides all the time, it can be a sign that she is suffering from stress.” Arndt recommends that cat owners buy cat trees. Cats often feel more comfortable when they’re high up. It is also a good idea to give your cat a safe place to relax. “For example, you can use a door guard and cut a small loophole just big enough for your cat,” said Arndt. “In this way, she can escape stress factors, such as a new pet that comes into the house for the first time.”
