After The Legend of Zelda celebrated its 35th birthday a few days ago, it was and is Pokémon’s turn this weekend. The series about the cute pocket monsters was 25 years old. Pocket Monsters: Red and Pocket Monsters: Green saw the light of day in Japan for Game Boy on February 27, 1996. This was followed by an almost unprecedented triumphal march around the planet.
At Zavvi, like at Zelda, they celebrate this with a special range. There is a unique hoodie, a bright yellow t-shirt and a white sweatshirt. In addition, extremely cool Pikachu sneakers * and a Pokémon box with fashionable accessories. Zavvi also has other Pokémon items in its permanent range and, last but not least, the rather exclusive Poké Ball replica *.
A very special kind of Poké Ball
These very special Pokéballs are different from all those that are already available in stores. They are die-cast and a “first class replica”. Equipped with proximity sensor technology, the button on the replica lights up as soon as movement is detected. When trainers press the button, the light changes color and the sequence of catching Pokémon begins. As a sign that this replica is not just any replica, there is also a unique, numbered hologram.
This is how Pokémon is celebrating its birthday with us
