Cyberpunk 2077 is now available in a new version for all platforms to make the game more stable.
The hotfix for Cyberpunk 2077 to version 1.21 was released by the development studio CD Projekt Red on Wednesday relatively unexpectedly and without any prior notice. It is very extensive because it has a total of more than 25 GB, which can be a bit tedious on the Playstation 4/5. The hotfix is available for all platforms on which Cyberpunk 2077 is available: Windows PC, Playstation 4/5, Xbox One and Series X / S as well as for Google Stadia.
After the hotfix, the game should crash less often. There are also improvements to the user interface and errors have been corrected in some missions.
Not in the Playstation Store
But there is one shortcoming: Sony has not reactivated Cyberpunk 2077 in the Playstation Store, as reported by golem.de. This means that you can no longer buy the game as a download there, but that the game is only available as a disc version for the time being. With the “Digital Edition” of the Playstation 5 you are left out.
Corresponding graphics and technology updates specifically for the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X / S have been announced for the second half of the year. In the current version there are no effects such as ray tracing and the advantages of the new consoles are technically not used.
Years of success in sight
Adam Kicinski, CEO of CD Projekt Red, currently assumes that the game designers will have years of success with Cyberpunk 2077 if they continue to technically improve the game and fix all bugs. “I do not see it as an option to put ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ on hold. We are convinced that we can bring the game into such a state that we can be proud of it and therefore sell it for years to come,” said Kicinski to Reuters.
The last patch that was available, 1.2, brought some improvements as well as new bugs.
