A look inside … the renovated dyke house of Femke and Annette

Construction of three floors

Together with family and friends, they have realized a full three-storey extension in 8 months and built it up to the ridge.

Old memories

Due to the extension, the original outside wall can now be seen -in- side in the living room. As a reminder, they have kept the original wall anchors.

They have also kept the old wooden beams in the dining room. They were dark brown and completely sanded. This immediately gives the house more atmosphere.

The interior

Femke and Annette soon agreed on the interior, she wanted an industrial look & feel. A real eye-catcher in the house is the new staircase. Friends often wonder where they got that old staircase from, but it is actually brand new and placed in the house during the renovation.

The trick? They especially let the stairs get dirty during the renovation. It is now corroded and covered in stains. This is precisely why the staircase has become very neat.

Another pearl!

During excavation work Femke and Annette found an old sink in the garden. Of course it had to be given a nice place and is now in the bathroom of the guest room.

Successful!

After months of hard work with family and friends, this is the result. Femke and Annette are very proud of that. And we don’t blame them.
