The future Audi Q5 e-tron could be the first Audi vehicle to be based on the new electric platform developed with Porsche.
The new Audi Q5 e-tron is due to be presented next year and will go on sale in 2023. It could be the brand’s first vehicle to take advantage of the new PPE platform developed with Porsche. It will also be introduced on the new generation of the Porsche Macan, the brand’s compact SUV.
The new Audi Q5 e-tron would thus find itself between the Q4 e-tron, which is based on the MEB platform, and the large e-tron SUV, which is based on the MLB-Evo platform.
The new PPE (Premium Platforme Electric) platform is designed to operate at a voltage of 800 volts. It is intended for powerful electric vehicles. Designed to offer high performance, it will accept fast charging up to 350 kW. The autonomy of the new Q5 e-tron could reach 480 km according to the WLTP cycle.
Like the current e-tron, the new Q5 e-tron could also benefit from a more muscular version. This will probably take the name RS again. It will have all-wheel drive and a power of 440 kW, the equivalent of nearly 600 horsepower.
