ADAC GT Masters: Audi duo with the best cards

The ADAC GT Masters is entering the decisive phase of the season. At the Sachsenring near Hohenstein-Ernstthal, the fifth of seven race weekends is on the program for the German GT Championship.

And the race for the title is still completely open. Only three points separate the championship leaders Ricardo Feller (21 / CH) and Christopher Mies (31 / Düsseldorf) in the Audi of the Land-Motorsport team from their closest rivals, Raffaele Marciello from Italy and Maximilian Buhk (28 / Reinbek) in the Mercedes AMG GT3 Evo of the Mann-Filter Team Landgraf.

Another six points behind are the Italian-Spanish duo Mirko Bortolotti and Albert Costa Balboa (GRT Grasser Racing Team). The Lamborghini factory drivers have so far been characterized primarily by their consistency and have their sights on the long overdue first win of the season on the 3,645 meter long, demanding Sachsenring with its four right and ten left turns.

Audi drivers Mies-Feller have the best prospects in Saxony. In theory at least: Christopher Mies has already been successful here four times. With 13 wins in the 28 races of the super sports car league at the Sachsenring, Audi is the most successful brand in the series. Curious, the Sachsenring is the only track on the ADAC GT Masters calendar on which a Porsche team has never won. However, Mies does not see himself as a favorite: “It will be evenly balanced and, as is typical for Sachsenring, very close. Our goal is to score well and, if possible, to finish ahead of our title rivals.”

At the Sachsenring, too, fans can follow the racing action live in the grandstands and experience the action up close in the paddock. The two races will be broadcast live on NITRO on free TV on Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. They can be seen in the live stream for free and without registration at and at

Luca Engstler favorite in the ADAC TCR Germany

Luca Engstler was on the podium in all eight ADAC TCR Germany races of the season

For the ADAC TCR Germany, races nine and ten of the season are on the program at the Sachsenring. Luca Engstler (21, Wiggensbach) travels to Saxony optimistically. The Hyundai driver from the Allgäu is the clear leader of the touring car series. “The Sachsenring is my favorite track on the ADAC TCR Germany calendar. I was successful there three years ago. The track characteristics just suit me, ”said the 21-year-old, who has been on the podium in all eight races of the season, five times as the winner.

The brothers Dominik and Marcel Fugel (Team Honda ADAC Sachsen) from Chemnitz have a real home game in the hometown of Winnetou inventor Karl May. “In 2019 and 2020 we were always able to win a race here. Last year we even scored a one-two, so we are optimistic, “said Dominik Fugel, fourth in the table. Both races can be seen on Saturday at 2.10 p.m. and on Sunday from 11.45 a.m. live on free TV on TVNOW and in the live stream on

Preliminary decision in the Porsche Carrera Cup?

Larry ten Voorde is on course to defend his title in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland

With the double run as part of the ADAC GT Masters, the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland starts the hot final phase of the season. For Laurin Heinrich and Porsche Junior Ayhancan Güven the last chance to put the championship leader Larry ten Voorde under pressure again before the finale in Hockenheim (October 22-24). With six wins this season, the Dutchman (240 points) leads the ranking ahead of Güven (212) and Heinrich (194).

The top trio want to take the next career step by winning the title as Carrera Cup champion. Just like the double Le Mans winner and endurance world champion Timo Bernhard or DTM three-time champion René Rast. After all, 17 current ADAC GT Masters drivers learned their trade in the Carrera Cup talent factory.
