ADAC TCR Germany: Luca Engstler’s triumphant drive
The young man from the Allgäu won the start and, shielded from his Danish team-mate Martin Andersen, was able to quickly gain a lead. It was only in the second lap that Scalvini was able to squeeze past the Dane into second place. From then on he hunted Engstler. However, there was always a respectable margin of respect. The German’s next success was never really in danger in the further course of the race.
Winner Luca Engstler with the second Eric Scalvini and the third placed Nico Gruber.
Behind the two front runners, an exciting duel between Andersen and Honda driver Marcel Fugel developed throughout the race. On the last lap of the race, however, there was a collision between the two when approaching the hairpin. The Dane fell back to fifth position. Fugel finally crossed the finish line in twelfth place.
Dominik Fugel got it worse. The Saxon had to park his Honda after a collision on lap six. In the fight for the championship, a severe setback for Fugel, who lost his third place in the table to Martin Andersen from the Hyundai Team Engstler
