After escaping from the police: Raser has to sell his car

Because he was racing through Ludwigsburg (Baden-Württemberg) at more than 100 km / h on the run from the police, a 23-year-old not only has to surrender his driver’s license for one year and pay a fine of 7200 euros. He also has to sell the Tat car – his BMW 440i. This is what the “Stuttgarter Nachrichten” reports.

Escape trip is said to have led through red lights and a sidewalk

According to the report, the man wanted to pose in front of his friends with the 326 hp 4 Series. Then a police patrol caught him shooting loose with tires screeching. Instead of facing the officials, the 23-year-old simply accelerated and escaped in GTA-style. At times, the 23-year-old is said to be heated at 120 km / h through the city center in Ludwigsburg, via red lights and even on the sidewalk to get past waiting cars.

The police finally gave up the chase because of the danger to all other road users, but were still able to find the man quickly. He had left his BMW in the yard of a fire station and fled on on foot. A firefighter saw how fast the car was going, plus the blue light – he put one and one together and reported it to the police. It found the driver quickly because he was still on the same street.

The car must be sold within three months

Why the strange escape? According to “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”, the man said he was scared and “had a blackout”. The Ludwigsburg district court convicted him of illegal car racing. Part of the punishment is that he has to sell his BMW 4 Series now – within three months and at the best possible price. However, the 23-year-old is not allowed to keep all of the money, 7,000 euros go to the state coffers. If the sale doesn’t work out, the car will be confiscated.
