Amazon Freevee, a new free streaming service, will be launched in Germany later this year. With well-known series.
Amazon Freevee will start in Germany in 2022
In addition to Amazon Prime Video, the company will launch the Amazon Freevee service in Germany later this year. Amazon has now announced this. The service is already available in the US and UK under the name “IMDb TV” and will be rebranded to Amazon Freevee on April 27th. The service will then be available under this name in this country at the start. When exactly, Amazon does not reveal. It just says “throughout the year”.
Amazon Freevee is an advertising-financed video-on-demand service through which Amazon also offers various original formats specially produced for viewing. There is also a large catalog of films and series. You can see what content is available on this Amazon page. However, a US IP address is currently required for viewing.
In 2022, Amazon wants to expand the range of “Originals” on Freevee by 70 percent. Among other things, with a spin-off of the successful and popular Amazon original series “Bosch”, which is available here on Prime Video with its seven seasons. In the US and UK, “Bosch: Legacy” will launch on May 6th.
Also scheduled to appear on Amazon Freevee are the new home design series, Hollywood Houselift with Jeff Lewis, Greg Garcia’s comedy series Leap, and High School, a series adapted for television by Clea DuVall. It’s based on the memoirs of Grammy-nominated, platinum-selling artists Tegan and Sara Quin.
