Amazon goes soccer: More Bundesliga games at the streaming provider

Soccer Bundesliga Amazon
Amazon shows even more games from the Bundesliga

Amazon is more active in football than ever before: the company has confirmed the transmission of additional Bundesliga games.

As a result, Amazon is now showing eleven more 1st division and relegation games this season. In addition, it is also possible to attend various game broadcasts acoustically via Amazon Music. However, as far as visual streams are concerned, the online giant has now acquired the rights to seven top division league games and four relegation games from the German Football League (DFL). A total of eleven other games are shown. They can also be found at DAZN.

Access to Amazon is of course also reserved for Prime customers – a paid subscription remains a prerequisite. Previously, however, Amazon had to accept severe criticism from the fans for its broadcasts. On May 18, Amazon started for the first time and practically ran against the post. So the commentary of the game was sometimes out of sync. After all, the subsequent transmissions went smoothly afterwards.

According to Amazon, there was a lot of positive feedback: The video quality and the focus on the game itself was well received by German football fans. After a few disputes, DAZN can also continue to broadcast: There had previously been a dispute with the DFL. For example, DAZN had obtained the rights through a sublicense agreement with Eurosport, but this is no longer valid because Eurosport terminated. However, an agreement has been reached.
