Graphics card prices have exploded in recent years. The increasing demand with scarce production capacities ensured that current models were sometimes only available for double the price. In the last few weeks, the situation has eased somewhat, so that graphics cards are slowly becoming affordable again and are getting closer and closer to the manufacturer’s RRP. Manufacturer AMD wants to counteract this fall in price with a games package that every buyer of a new GPU should receive.
Free games with the purchase of a GPU
The bundle, dubbed “Raise the Game”, is to be offered for graphics cards purchased from May 10th. All models from the RX 6400 to the new RX 6950XT are eligible. However, it has not yet been decided which games should be included with which graphics card. There will probably be a staggered model, with more games included with expensive GPUs. However, AMD promises that every graphics card will come with games worth at least 60 euros. For example, the titles “Saints Row” and “Sniper Elite 5” are under discussion.
Promotion runs until August 13, 2022
The games bundle will be cheaper when buying a new AMD graphics card from the providers Alternate, Caseking, Cyberport, Mindfactory and Notebooks, for example. According to AMD, the campaign should run until August 13, 2022. However, the quotas seem to be limited, although they should only be download codes for the respective games. This is certainly attractive for buyers, after all, investments for new games can be avoided in this way. Meanwhile, AMD benefits from the fact that the prices for new graphics cards will not fall so quickly.
