Although there is no official confirmation of Apple’s own car yet, this previously imaginary model is already more popular than Tesla. This is the result of a survey by the market research company Strategic Visionaus (USA).
The company asked 200,000 new car owners about their preferred car brands. There were 45 to choose from and Apple was third behind Toyota and Honda – ahead of Tesla, Lexus and BMW.
In addition, more than half of the Tesla drivers among those surveyed stated that they could imagine switching to an Apple car in the future – if they actually do so.
No cooperation with Hyundai/Kia
Unconfirmed information about Apple’s first car has been circulating for years. Sometimes it is said that the Apple Car might be developed in cooperation with Kia or Hyundai. But Hyundai already confirmed to the US news company Bloomberg in early 2021 that it was no longer holding talks with Apple. Then again, it should only be an autonomous shuttle service for employees.
New clues to real Apple Car
Recently, however, the indications of planning your own car have increased. Because in the summer of 2022, patent analysts examined the patents filed by Apple in recent years and found, among other things, those for suspension, seats and a self-darkening sunroof. This suggests that Apple relies on its own car and not just on an autonomous shuttle service. However, further information is not known at this time.
