AUA boss remains until at least 2026

Alexis von Hoensbroech’s contract extended early.

The Austrian Airlines Supervisory Board has prematurely extended the contract with boss Alexis von Hoensbroech, which runs until July. According to the announcement, the 50-year-old will remain on board for at least five more years until 2026. Von Hoensbroech has been CEO of Austrian Airlines since August 2018.

The head of the supervisory board, Christina Foerster, praised von Hoensbroech’s qualities as a crisis manager: “He and his management team steered Austrian Airlines through the Corona crisis with a sure hand, and was able to build a lot of trust in politics and especially among employees The course has been laid for a good new start. ” Hoensbroech, who holds a doctorate in physics, joined the Lufthansa Group in 2005 and initially assumed responsibility for the M&A area. From 2014 to 2018 he managed the freight subsidiary Lufthansa Cargo.
