Audi A5 Cabrio used: The Euro 6 common rail diesel does its job very well
Despite a large number of powerful (and even more expensive) alternative engines, the thoroughly insulated Euro 6 common rail diesel (VW EA288) does its job pleasantly well together with the 7-speed dual clutch transmission (S tronic). A hefty 400 Nm of torque at just 1,750 revolutions are a license for effortless gliding Mini-Consumption of six liters of diesel.
How often a refueling stop is necessary depends on whether the first owner has invested in the optional 54 liter tank and the 24 liter AdBlue reservoir. The elegant appearance still works despite a few stone chips on the front.
The soft top can be opened while driving up to 50 km/h
The soft top opens fully automatically in just 15 seconds at the push of a button. The elaborate soft top structure also proves to be fully suitable for winter. It consists of an insulated, three-layer fabric with additional insulation to reduce the noise level in the interior.

The constructive quality pays off for used buyers. Except for the prematurely wearing chassis and occasional oil consumption, the A5 has few standard problems.
It can be opened and closed while driving up to a speed of 50 km/h. Of course, standing still should be much gentler on the convertible top mechanism in the long run. The solidity of the construction is also supported by the fact that after 100,000 kilometers our test car does not even crackle out of the structure on cobblestones and that all gaps are still accurate to the millimeter.

Average consumption is a moderate six liters of diesel
What is amazing is that A5 not only noble can: With the tested two-liter four-cylinder TDI respectable trailer loads are in it. Up to 1,700 kilograms (750 kilograms unbraked) would be possible on the optional hook. Despite the moderate average consumption of around six liters of diesel, reserves should be planned for maintenance. A hefty premium surcharge is due for both the hull costs and possible repairs.
