Audi eTTron (2021): TT successor will not be a sports car

TT’s successor will not be a sports car

The Audi TT gets a successor – however, the electric car will not become a sports car. AUTO BILD has the first information about the Audi eTTron!

Dhe Audi TT could get a successor that no longer has a lot to do with the previous concept of the sports car: not a coupé or a roadster, but a fully electric crossover with the working title “eTTron“! With a length of 4.35 meters, the new TT would be a hand’s breadth shorter than an Audi Q3, significantly flatter and therefore – at least visually – sportier. The basis for the electric Audi is likely to be the VW MEB group kit, on which the VW ID.3 stands.

For the basic variant, an output of 204 hp can be expected, a sport version with all-wheel drive should also be planned. The powerful quattro with 400 HP could be just as powerful as a current TT RS with a five-cylinder petrol engine. The eTTron could take over the three battery packs directly from the VW ID.3 and thus enable ranges between 350 and 550 kilometers. Thanks to the quick charge function, the batteries are 80 percent full in half an hour. Market launch for the Audi eTTron could be in 2021, prices should start below 45,000 euros.
