Significantly larger and more spacious than an A6 allroad, almost as luxurious as an A8 and thanks to sophisticated air suspension for a SUV unexpectedly dynamic. The four-wheel drive giant, which was built in Bratislava, Slovakia, together with the VW Touareg, quickly celebrated considerable sales success. And it also impressed with excellent results in tests at AUTO BILD.

Audi Q7 3.0 TDI quattro after 4 years for around 43,000 euros

It was new Q7 still a clear case for top earners. But as a four-year-old used car, it is on par with the rather simply equipped Q3 models, at least in terms of purchase.

According to the Schwacke database, in 2018, including the S-line package, third rear seat and a few other extras, the order for the Luxembourg new car was 80,040 euros. Now would be the daytona gray one Q7 available from Autohus in Bockel near Bremen for 42,980 euros.

Although the first owner did not treat himself to full equipment, the stay on board is still comfortable – despite the technoid-cool ambience that is typical of Audi.

The impressive mileage of 147,187 kilometers is not noticeable in either the chassis or the interior. Material selection and processing quality are top, the freedom of movement meets the highest demands. Luckily, once feared soft paint problems are a thing of the past, except for a somewhat sensitive air vent band.

The Q7 is either a seven-seater or a loading giant

The sophisticated MMI infotainment can be operated via touchpad or controller and reacts without delay. And the 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit also displays Google Maps in addition to classic views.

With the optional, electrically retractable and extendable individual seats in the third row, the Q7 to a fully-fledged seven-seater, but then with a reduced trunk volume. The latter is otherwise impressively large: 890 to 2075 liters are suspect for small vans.

Doors that close like a safe tell of solidity, prove the care taken in construction and assembly – the numerous paint quirks around the vehicle rather a unfortunately careless previous owner. Beefy power from the low revs and around eight liters of diesel consumption are the strengths of the Euro 6b common rail diesel. This is also suitable for extremely fast motorway stages and stays on the hook even with heavy trailers (a maximum of 2.7 tons are possible).

It is also available as a hybrid variant 3.0 TDI e-tron

The weaker 3.0 TDI version with 218 hp is also sufficient. The hybrid variant 3.0 TDI e-tron is exotic. It has 373 hp system power and was only built from March 2015 to May 2018.

The TFSI petrol engines from 333 hp are significantly thirstier. First-hand copies were mostly purchased as company cars and are almost always maintained with a full service history. You shouldn’t have a serious backlog of repairs.

However, caution is advised when Q7interpreted as a noble workhorse, abused in the field or permanently used as a towing vehicle.

The aforementioned 2.7 ton trailer load can add to the automatic transmission in the long run if it is not treated to fresh oil.
