Bavaria: Söder resigns the minister and cancels the February vacation

Söder also announced that the carnival holidays in Bavaria will be canceled due to the corona crisis. The holiday week, which is actually planned from February 15 to 19, will not take place, during which lessons can be made up that had been canceled due to the pandemic.

Söder spoke out in favor of a vaccination campaign to get more people excited about vaccination. “It takes role models from public life, including from politics, to make it clear that the vaccine is safe,” he said. So far, around 90,000 people in Bavaria have been vaccinated. The willingness of the residents of the nursing homes is high, while the employees are very reluctant. Vaccination is the only real long-term strategy against corona. “But you shouldn’t get false hopes as to how long it will last.” He says that he only gives prospects of a normal life when everyone has been vaccinated.
