Billionaire’s mansion in Manhattan sells for 50 million euros

For almost eight years, a billionaire tried to sell his Manhattan mansion. Now, finally, a purchase contract for 50 million euros has been drawn up for one of the most magnificent houses in New York City. This is what Katherine Clark reported for the “Wall Street Journal”. Should the purchase project actually be completed at this price, that would be a price reduction of around 47 percent compared to the originally planned price of the house.

The 2,000-square-meter villa has a panic room and a Versailles-inspired dining room. In 2013, the seller wanted 96 million euros for the house – making it the most expensive house in town. However, there was no buyer, which is why the price was lowered further and further. Most recently, the house was offered for 66 million euros.

The billionaire owner of the house, Vincent Viola, almost sold the house once before. In 2017, a sales contract was drawn up with an interested party for almost 67 million euros, reported the media company “The Real Deal” at the time. However, the contract fell through and Viola’s magnificent villa was released for rent for 147,000 euros per month. Here you can see what the 50 million euro villa looks like.
