Suzuki is known for compact, functional four-wheel drive models. The Japanese are also staying true to this basic formula when revising the compact SUV S-Cross, which until recently was sold as the SX4 S-Cross. Compared to its predecessor, the current model looks much beefier and, above all, more like an SUV. This is mainly ensured by the front with the large radiator grille that stands upright in the wind.

When it comes to the powertrain, Suzuki relies on electrified minimalism. Only one engine is offered, namely the 129 hp 1.4 Boosterjet Hybrid, a petrol engine with mild hybrid support. It is available with a choice of a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. Both transmission variants are also optionally available with the automatically engaging “Allgrip” all-wheel drive system.

If you want to secure the completely new compact SUV with proven technology under the hood, you have to have at least 30,790 euros ready according to the price list. Compared to the official Suzuki portfolio, the selection at is a little limited. Only the all-wheel-drive models with the Allgrip suffix are currently available. In order to achieve the maximum savings, you have to go for the top model: the 1.4 Boosterjet Hybrid with all-wheel drive, automatic transmission in the highest equipment version “Comfort+”.

In this basic configuration, the stylish SUV already contains everything your heart desires. So the Japanese drives up with two-zone automatic air conditioning, heated front seats, navigation system, LED headlights and numerous assistance systems.

The practical 360-degree camera is already on board. Without any additional equipment, the list price of the S-Cross Allgrip Automatic Comfort+ starts at 36,040 euros, the offers at start at 31,889 euros and are therefore 4151 euros lower.

The configurator does not offer much scope for further upgrading; But if you opt for extras that are subject to a surcharge, such as metallic paintwork or a black 17-inch model, you can drive the discount up to 5046 euros (note: the transfer costs reduce the discount by a few hundred euros).

It is not uncommon for Suzuki to be particularly popular with buyers who want a robust and functional all-wheel drive vehicle rather than luxury. It is therefore also worth taking a look at the entry-level version offered at, the mild hybrid all-wheel drive with manual transmission in the “Comfort” version. According to the RRP, Suzuki calls for 31,140 euros for this model, with the online provider prices start at least 3465 euros below that – namely at 27,675 euros.

There is the 129 hp all-wheel drive model with six-speed switch, LED headlights, 17-inch aluminum, rain sensor and reversing camera. A navigation system is not even available for an extra charge.
