Call of Duty: Ricochet steals guns from cheaters

In the meantime, a third punishment option for cheaters has been introduced in the “Call of Duty” anti-cheat system.

With the June update, the developers of the anti-cheat system Ricochet introduced a third punishment option for cheaters this week. The sanction goes by the name of “disarm” and removes the guns of players caught cheating in Call of Duty. They can then no longer defend themselves against their fellow combatants with their fists.

Three punishment options for cheaters

With this option, the anti-cheat system Ricochet now has three punishment options for cheaters. In addition to “Disarm”, this also includes the “Damage Shield”, in which fair players do not lose any life points if they are targeted by a cheater, and “Cloaking”. Here, fair players become invisible to cheaters.

Battle between game developers and cheaters

The Ricochet developers are always looking for new ways to make life difficult for cheaters in “Call of Duty: Warzone” as well as in the online modes of the other “Call of Duty” titles. But cheat software developers are almost as quick to find solutions to bypass Ricochet. For this reason, according to the developers, the system does not track down all scammers. In recent months, however, the mechanisms have been improved to unmask cheaters more quickly.

The three different punishments were introduced not only to spoil the fun for cheaters, but also to keep them in the game long enough for their tactics to be analyzed. At the same time, however, they should no longer cause any damage to honest players.
