Band of Brothers, let’s be brothers in arms. How do we dominate as Squad CoD Warzone? With C4 drones, heavily armored trucks as mobile shields and helicopter crews. But also tactics: turn a 3v1 situation into a duel. Keep out of sight from the doctor. But how do you use Counter-Sniper again? 10 Warzone professional tips on how you can better serve your team today.
Does anyone remember the brilliant Band of Brothers series? There the GIs are tactically wise, you should do that as a squad in Warzone too.
Oh how we miss Band of Brothers. This great series by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. But also this wonderful series of games from Gearbox Entertainment. Does anyone remember this wonderful tactical shooter? In memory of Hell’s Highway, we’re using Corona Quarantine and playing Call of Duty Warzone up and down. What a game: Just before this article is created, the adrenaline rushes a little bit, because we only brought down such an annoying helicopter pilot and his Little Bird with a Glock. Okay, there was a bit of luck in it – a few shots hit the rotor, a few shots hit the pilot who fell shortly before the bird exploded.
But hey, we don’t want to digress: we are The team says Jögi Löw’s team, we are the squad, we say in Call of Duty Warzones BR squad mode. Yes, we made too many comparisons to Battlefield in the last special, but doesn’t that feel the same? Let’s be honest: one is flying, one is sitting next to him, two more are sitting in the back, his foot casually on the runners. With a fully upgraded M13 assault rifle, we hit the enemy beneath us – two campers who made themselves comfortable on the roof of a hotel. So not friends – a short overflight and it has camped out.
Call of Duty Warzone in the test – the better Battlefield 6?
PCWELT Tip No. 1: Helicopter crews can really do something in Call of Duty Warzone
Helicopter crews are just as efficient as in Battlefield, because the cards bring many skyscrapers and roofs that can be easily attacked.
Unfortunately there is currently only the Little Bird, so no Black Hawk or even Apache, with which a little more firepower could be brought into the field, but even with the smallest of all helicopters they can work very effectively in Warzone. Because the maps are very large, the flag points and bases are often widely distributed. With the Little Bird you can easily fly in here, take a point, collect the points and are already gone before the enemy approaches. This is much easier than in Battlefield, because despite the large number of 150 players on the server, only four players form a team in squad mode. So there are a lot of squads fighting against each other, not complete armies.
The likelihood that the opponent will react directly to such actions is correspondingly low. Also because he first has to get to the air base or the football stadium.
If you haven’t noticed yet: The two current maps are full of references and replicas from past call-of-duty parts – this is how the crashed helicopter from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare comes from, the settlement of Novi Grazna Hills is that Modeled on the Washington DC suburb, where the Russian invasion first struck in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Call of Duty 4’s Killhouse has been fully implemented at the military base in the far north. And the TV station is a complete recreation of broadcast – the mission in the first Modern Warfare where we storm a TV station with the U.S. Marines to find the wolf.
PCWELT Tip No. 2: Trucks are surprisingly well armored
The trucks are extremely well armored and are difficult to crack, even with assault rifles. Must be used as a mobile cover.
Trucks and SUVs are pretty well armored in Call of Duty: Warzone. The windscreen is bulletproof for smaller projectiles, only sniper rifles and special types of ammunition can penetrate them. You are really vulnerable especially from the sides where there is no bulletproof glass. The trucks are also recommended for squads because the team can take a seat in the back. If it lies down, it can efficiently fight pursuers – for example in SUVs – the rocket launcher is particularly useful here. It is also needed to crack a truck like this. The trucks endure an astonishing amount of machine-gun fire, which makes them ideal as a mobile protective shield. With the truck you can also secure money deposits and take flags in Plunder mode. If you are chased by helicopters, the missile gunner on the loading area takes over.
PCWELT Tip No. 3: How to turn a 3-on-1 situation into a duel
You cannot push aggressively in 3-on-1, but you can gain time until your squad is operational again.
Now it’s getting tactical: In Warzone you will often have the situation that a teammate is shot and needs to be treated. This puts your squad in a dangerous situation – the opponent now only has to push, it forces you into a 3-on-1 situation. One is down, the other is treating him. You have to stop the enemy. What you are doing now is wasting time: you cannot withdraw completely into the depth, i.e. defensive, because then the opponent puts pressure on you and overwhelms you. So you have to hold up, but only half offensive. To do this, peak with the visor at a sharp angle so that you can only see and attack an opponent. Firing, switching him off, retreating – this optimally unsettles his team, which gives the medic enough time to do his job. You now have three people again, push ahead and win.
PCWELT Tip No. 4: C4 drones are extremely efficient
Anyone who comes from the Battlefield world in Call of Duty Warzone knows the trick: Everything gets better with C4. Unforgettable the moments when we strapped C4 packages onto buggies and shot up ramps to blow helicopters out of the sky. You can achieve something similar with C4 drones: Simply put two C4 packages on a drone, fly off, have fun: If you attack helicopter crews, you can easily send an entire team to the devil. Or convoys – drives half of the team in the truck, the others in the buggy, does it once boom and tears both companions. It takes a bit of luck, but it can be done. The astonishing thing is how exactly the drone can be controlled, as the pretty funny video in these lines proves.
PCWELT Tip No. 5: Mark opponents and assign goals to squad comrades
First and foremost a battlefield mechanic: In order to coordinate flanking attacks efficiently as a squad leader, you can give inexperienced colleagues instructions on where to position themselves – beginners like to run straight into the enemy fire or look for battle without thinking first where there is enough cover and above all a good shooting position. As in Battlefield, it’s rarely about just getting started, but sneaking into position, looking for the optimal position and surprising the enemy team. Opening the fire too early will give the enemy plenty of time to coordinate. An attack from a distance is only recommended in two scenarios: you are superior to snipers or the enemy is close to a vehicle. Here you can keep on with the Javelin rocket launcher, the explosions switch off all soldiers in the area. It’s worth it, after all, fallen opponents leave their complete equipment with which your entire team can equip.
PCWELT Tip No. 6: If one is shot, everyone has to work
If one goes down, let the person crawl to cover themselves – don’t start the doctor in the opponent’s line of fire.
That should be a matter of course, but the in-game reality paints a different picture: Instead of moaning or complaining when you are shot, rather make clear statements: 1 opponent directly in front of me, got him, is down to 50 percent life. Second is waiting at the door, no contact yet. This way your team can tactically analyze what needs to be done, which sources of danger need to be switched off and how to be treated as quickly as possible. Enormously important for the man with the adrenaline injection: do not overreact and start the resuscitation before the danger is averted – it makes no sense to start a resuscitation, the opponent gets in and catches both. Pay attention to the enemy’s line of sight – in extreme cases, the colleague has to slide a bit towards them, which takes time but is better than sitting on the presentation plate.

PCWELT Tip No. 7: Team communication leads to victory
Squad is a demanding mode because you play against teams of four. It is essential to work with callouts: “One down, second shot”. You need to know how many opponents you already have in direct contact to be able to estimate whether the enemy squad is working with a sniper or machine gunner – the sniper quickly kills your comrades and it is difficult to react if you do not have a counter- Have sniper. A machine gunner simply sizzles into your group – if you stand too close, the majority can be seriously wounded. When communicating, you must first discuss how you want to speak. Not everyone understands an “opponent at 12 o’clock, in addition to 9 back up”
PCWELT Tip No. 8: Parachutes can be cut through an infinite number of times
Here we use fast-drop technology to secure the landing site for our team. An enemy helicopter crew is already lurking there.
That’s really cool, but unrealistic: you can close and open your parachute as often as you like. This can be used smartly: if you jump out of the plane onto the map, you can release the parachute, then cut it – this will help you fall faster. Do this a few times in a row, the speed boost will accelerate you to Earth faster and you and your team can get the best loot. This is especially important if you decide to land at a popular point. Second, after you cut your parachute away, you get a few seconds that your starting pistol is automatically drawn: Now you can shoot at other players who are sailing straight down. It doesn’t always work, but you can try it out.
Another tip from the community of Commander Fricke:
If the target is far away (1000 meters or more) goes up to a speed of 50 (the number on the right of the bar), then opens the parachute and closes it again immediately. If your goal is closer (600 to 1000 meters) do the same at 80. Under 600 you can usually fly there without opening or open once or twice at 120. “
PCWELT Tip No. 9: Conclude contracts and reinvest money
Contracts are mini-missions that you can find on the map. These optional tasks have substantial bonuses that bring a lot of money if you rock the baby home. These contracts are marked with a magnifying glass symbol on the card and there are three types: Bounty, where you have to hunt a random player to collect his bounty. Reconnaissance orders where you have to secure certain locations and scavenger contracts – you have to capture supply boxes for this.
This redeployment in particular is exciting: if the comrade loses in the gulag, simply buy him back.
PCWELT Tip No. 10: Secure buy stations with smoke grenades
You should secure buy stations and supply drops with smoke grenades, otherwise your team will deliver a find for snipers.
One of the biggest problems currently in Warzone are campers. It is very easy to lurk at a buy station because players have to stand to buy, making it an easy headshot. You can counter this by throwing a smoke – a smoke grenade nebulizes the area long enough to buy in peace. The camper then shoots into the smoke, you know where he is – your team liquidates him. Ideally, you have a trained counter sniper in the squad for this situation, just like real special units do. ATTENTION: Smoke can also be seen through the thermal scope, so it is not a 100% protection.
