According to the Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, car dealerships will be able to continue to deliver to customers during the lockdown period.
Among the “non-essential” activities, car dealerships will be idling from this Friday, October 29, the date of the establishment of a new containment which should last “at least” until 1er December. While the reception of the public will be interrupted in the showrooms, customers who have already ordered will be able to make an appointment to receive their new vehicle.
Already put in place by some manufacturers during the first containment, the device will allow concessions to continue to sell their stocks.
The workshops always open
As the list of “essential” businesses for this new containment is identical to that established last spring, auto maintenance and repair activities will be maintained. Ditto for fuel stations and bicycle and motorcycle repair shops.
As for the sale of new vehicles, it cannot be done directly in showrooms but over distance by telephone or on the internet.
