Charli D’Amelio creates profile with competitor Triller: end of Tiktok near?

Charli D’Amelio is the most popular TikTokker at the moment. The 16-year-old American has more than 87 million followers on the app. But now she has also set her sights on a new app: Triller.

TikTok is the app of the moment, but its future seems uncertain. This is mainly because US President Donald Trump does not trust the app and wants to ban it in the United States. That is why various TikTokkers are getting hot and are looking for another app: Triller.

Triller

Triller has been around since 2015, but was always in the shadow of Musical.ly, now TikTok. But when TikTok was recently banned in India, the app got a boost. It is not only India that has doubts about TikTok, also US President Donald Trump threatened to ban TikTok for a long time if no American acquirer was found for the American branch. Trump suspects that TikTok is used to pass on data of American citizens to the Chinese government.

Recently the news came that Oracle was to acquire TikTok, but it would only concern a small part of the company and not the entire American branch. TikTok has found another solution. It will move the US arm to the United States to house it as a standalone company.

Charli D’Amelio

Donald Trump’s threats have made these uncertain times for those for whom TikTok is a full-time job. Charli D’Amelio may be only 16 years old, but she already managed to amass a fortune of several million through the app.

But she was in danger of losing her platform and her more than 87 million followers. As a result, she has now, like thousands of other TikTokkers, given herself a safety net. She did this by creating a profile on Triller, a similar app, which Trump has no problems with. On the contrary. The American president made an account on it himself in August. Whether Triller can really become the new TikTok is of course still the question, but with big names such as Charli D’Amelio making the crossing, that chance will increase.
