Bad news for those who were always convinced that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was nothing more than a solid piece of fantasy by Roald Dahl. Because in the United States you can now participate in a kind of treasure hunt, where you can win a candy factory!
Published in 1964 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the imaginative book by Roald Dahl. In it we got to know Willy Wonka, the aging owner of a chocolate factory. He organized a competition with golden tickets. One of the kids who found such a ticket would eventually get the factory, and the lucky one was – of course – Charlie.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
The story was a huge success, and was even made into a film twice. The first time, in 1971, comedian Gene Wilder played Willy Wonka. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was a huge success, and has since become a true classic that can almost always be seen on television in the United States during the holidays.
In 2005 Johnny Depp took on the role of Willy Wonka for the film adaptation of Tim Burton. That version of the film was poorly received, but turned out to be a success. And that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is still popular, Netflix makes it all too clear. The streaming service is busy with a series around the story, which will be directed by Oscar winner Taika Waititi.
Meanwhile, David Klein has bombed himself to real life-Willy Wonka. The man behind the Jelly Bean candies has created a competition that he himself calls “the ultimate treasure hunt”. Unlike in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory children / adults do not have to find a golden ticket, but register themselves.
This registration costs 50 dollars (42.50 euros). That’s not a small amount, but you have a chance of winning great prizes. For example, various cash prizes are distributed among the participants, and the top prize is the Candyman Kitchens candy factory in Florida.
Klein also realizes that there will be a lot of demand. That’s why he has limited the number of participants to 1,000 per state. Yep, unfortunately only Americans can participate in the competition. Anyone who wants to move to the United States and also change their domicile address, we wish the best of luck!
