A 55 inch 4K OLED television from LG Electronics with HDMI 2.1 for only 1,099 euros? Media Markt and Saturn deliver just such a bargain with the reduced OLED55BX9LB.
At a price of 1,099 euros you get a 55 inch 4K OLED television from the 2020 model year. The BX series is also often referred to as the “entry” in LG’s OLED segment, but the OLED55BX9LB is far from being an “entry-level model”. Two HDMI 2.1 connections allow you to reproduce your PC, Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 with a maximum of 4K @ 120Hz including HDR. ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel) are of course also mandatory! Further connections are available in the form of two HDMI 2.0 ports. In addition, 3x USB, 1x LAN, 1x CI + 1.4 and a digital audio output (optical).
webOS 5.0 and Apple AirPlay 2
The BX 4K OLED connects wirelessly via WiFi, Bluetooth, WiSa or Apple AirPlay 2 to compatible devices such as soundbars or wireless audio systems. The model is controlled using the popular webOS user interface (version 5.0), which can be operated intuitively and reliably.
Upgrade for 1,299 euros – OLED48CX9LB
If you long for a more compact upgrade, you can also find it at Media Markt and Saturn. The new 48-inch model in the CX series is currently available for 1,299 euros. For the price you get, among other things, four HDMI 2.1 inputs and a slightly more powerful Alpha 9 Gen 3 processor. The latter shouldn’t be too important. With this model, the somewhat more compact form factor of 48 inches (121 cm diagonal) is in the foreground, which can be integrated into almost any usage environment. We also find this inch size ideal as a replacement for a monitor.
