Consultation committee: “Driving schools can open their doors again”

Driving schools can start up again, the Consultation Committee decided this afternoon. That is also the only relaxation that the meeting of the various governments in our country implemented.

Driving schools may again offer practical lessons and organize exams from Monday. After all, this was prohibited for a long time for driving licenses category B and BE in the context of the corona measures.

The representatives of the states had indicated in advance that it was too early to loosen the reins. The figures are nowhere near the pre-agreed “relaxation threshold” of less than 800 infections and 75 hospital admissions per day. In several European countries, people are even tightening up.

During the Consultation Committee it was mainly about the vaccine strategy. Good news will come from that front: The European vaccination campaign is starting to get under steam. Thanks to an additional order from the European Commission with Pfizer and Moderna, Minister of Health Frank Vandenbroucke was able to announce in parliament this afternoon that young people could probably also be vaccinated before the start of the summer. Prime Minister De Croo spoke of “a game changer”.
