In order to be able to publish a successful presentation including your comments, the display duration of the individual slides and the laser pointer movements on the web or pass it on on DVD, it is best to save it as a video.
Convert PowerPoint presentation to video
For this purpose, PowerPoint offers you the WMF and MP4 formats. To record a live presentation, go to the Slide Show ribbon, make sure the first slide is showing, and click Record Slide Show. In the next window click on the red “Record” button at the top left and hold your presentation. Finally, stop the recording with the “End” button. Close the window and use “File -> Save” to ensure that the course of your presentation is retained.
You can record presentations with Powerpoint, including the comments and display duration of the individual slides, and then save them as a video. The program offers various resolutions and file formats for this purpose.
Click on “File -› Export ”and go to“ Create Video ”. First select the quality on the right. Please note: the higher the resolution, the larger the file and the greater the bandwidth required for the video stream. For a website you should choose “Standard (480p)”. If you would like to save the presentation on a DVD or a USB stick, you can set “Full HD (1080p)”. In the drop-down menu below, select “Use recorded timings and comments”.
Then click on “Create video”. Powerpoint suggests the file type “MPEG4-Video (* .mp4)”, which you can usually adopt. Set the desired folder and click on “Save” to start the conversion into a video. Caution: With large presentations and high resolution, the process can take several hours with an older PC.
