Convicted murderer and music producer Phil Spector passed away

A few weeks ago, 81-year-old Phil was diagnosed with corona. He was in hospital for a while, after which his health improved enough to go back to prison. According to TMZ he subsequently relapsed. Spector would have had breathing problems.

In the sixties and seventies Phil achieved his greatest success. He has produced music for The Ronettes, The Righteous Brothers, The Beatles, John Lennon and George Harrison, among others. Phil was also responsible for Ike & Tina Turners ‘River Deep, Mountain High’ and he was the founder of the ‘wall of sound’ technique. In 1989 Phil was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In February 2003, Phil, already known as an eccentric, fell off his pedestal. He was arrested on suspicion of involvement in Lana’s death at his Los Angeles home. Although Spector has always denied his involvement, he was sentenced to 19 years in prison in April 2009.
