The Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet. Reason enough to install the new version 2.22 of the Corona-Warn-App (CWA). The update brings an important improvement and even helps users without a smartphone.
The Corona-Warn-App (CWA) is available in version 2.22. The creation of quick test profiles for family members is new. Such a quick test profile contains personal data such as name and contact details in the form of a QR code, as the project managers explain. At participating test centers, only the QR code in the app is then scanned for registration. This should speed up the on-site registration.
With the Corona-Warn-App 2.22, users can also create quick test profiles for family members who do not have a smartphone at all. To do this, go to “Quick test profile” under “Are you getting tested?” and tap on “Create quick test profile” (on iOS devices) or on “+ Quick test profile” (on Android devices). Then enter the data of the relevant person. A list of all quick test profiles that you have stored under the respective name of the person is then displayed under the item “Quick test profile”.
If a user taps on “Next” from the quick test profile to scan the QR code of the test site, then you can then choose whether you want to register the test for yourself or for others. If you decide “for others”, the Corona-Warn-App automatically enters the name from the quick test profile of the person concerned. You can then change the name if necessary.
How to get the update
The known rules of the game apply to rolling out the Corona-Warn-App 2.22 for iOS and Android devices: iOS users can now download the current app version manually from the app. The Google Play Store, on the other hand, does not offer the option of initiating a manual update. The new version of the Corona warning app will be available to users here within the next 48 hours.
