Create a screenshot with Android – this is how it works with Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi & Co.

With a simple key combination you can take a screenshot of the mobile phone screen – very practical! And so it goes.

A screenshot is a photo of what is on the screen. So when you have found an exciting comment, a funny picture or a funny WhatsApp conversation, you can easily take a screenshot to save it for later or share it with other contacts. What used to be quite complicated and inconsistent is no longer rocket science with the latest Android. Because a simple key combination is enough. Some cell phones even offer special methods.

The screenshot function is now possible on most Android devices using the same key combination:

  • Hold up

    simultaneously

    in short the

    On / Off button

    and the

    pressed.

  • The mobile phone usually saves the screenshot in your

    gallery

    under ”

    ” away.

Some manufacturers, such as Samsung, Huawei and OnePlus, also offer a scroll screenshot to record an entire website. Google will probably also integrate one of these in the next Android version 12. To do this, take a screenshot of the

Keyboard shortcut

or tap on the corresponding command that is displayed to you. Now the system will either automatically scroll down and take a long screenshot, or you will have to keep tapping down to take the scrolling screenshot. To exit, tap the screen or the small screenshot.

Screenshot by voice command:

Android phones have their own voice assistant, the Google Assistant, ex works. Say ”

Ok Google, take a screenshot

“and the device takes a screenshot. However, this method takes longer than the key combination.

Alternative methods: take screenshots with Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi phones

The above method naturally also works with current smartphones from Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi. Among other things, these three manufacturers offer alternative options for saving the screen content.

Screenshot with Samsung:

If you have a Samsung cell phone, you can also take a screenshot with a gesture. If activated in the settings, you can simply swipe the edge of your hand over the screen and the mobile phone will take a screenshot. If you have a Galaxy Note model, you can also take the screenshot using the S-Pen.

Screenshot with Huawei:

With Huawei devices, you can simply tap the display twice in quick succession with your knuckle to take a screenshot – it’s very simple! This also works with the devices from Honor.

Screenshot with Xiaomi:

Xiaomi also allows you to save a screenshot using gestures. If activated in the settings, then simply swipe with three fingers from the top of the screen to the bottom. Alternatively, you can just pull down the status bar and then tap on the corresponding command.

Share screenshot

Of course, you can also share your recorded screen. In most cases, the screenshot will appear at the bottom right after the screenshot. If you tap on this, you will see the “Share” option next to the editing functions. Then select the appropriate platform such as Mail, Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and Co. and send the screenshot. Or you can go the classic way via the gallery, in which the screenshot is saved as an image and shared as such.
