Cupra Born in leasing: price and delivery time

The Born is Cupra’s first electric car and is based on the same platform as the VW ID.3. Compared to the Wolfsburg, however, the Cupra is visually a bit sportier and is intended to appeal to a younger audience in particular. The Born is offered in two different power levels with batteries of different sizes.
In the AUTO BILD driving report, the electric car was able to score above all with a balanced chassis tuning: “A lot of fine work seems to have gone into the spring-damper tuning. When springing up, the Born remains very relaxed, but the chassis swallows short steps, bumps and joints generous tires in the format 235/40 ZR 20 surprisingly clean away.” In the basic version with 150 kW (204 hp) and 58 kWh battery, the Born costs at least 37,220 euros before deducting the environmental bonus. It’s a good thing that there are always interesting leasing offers!

Attention to the environmental premium

At (cooperation partner of AUTO BILD), commercial customers currently have the opportunity to lease the Cupra Born for 221 euros net per month. As with most electric car leasing deals, there is a one-time special payment of 6,000 euros. This amount will be refunded after correct and timely application for the environmental bonus to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA). But be careful, because the full refund only applies to vehicles that will be delivered and registered in 2022. (maintenance costs calculate? To the car insurance comparison!)

The delivery time of the Cupra is given as six months, which would mean that the electric car will be delivered this calendar year. However, if delivery and thus also approval are delayed, customers could only be reimbursed part of the special payment. According to the current status, the BAFA bonus will be reduced to an amount of 3,000 euros from January 1, 2023, so that in the worst case, customers should calculate a one-time special payment of 3,000 euros.

The term of the offer is designed for 48 months. On request, however, the Born can also be leased for 36 (EUR 237 net per month) or 24 months (EUR 256 net per month). The annual free kilometers are given as 10,000, but can be increased to up to 20,000 per year (251 euros net per month) for a surcharge.

Cupra Born with total leasing costs of 6144 euros

It is positive to mention that the otherwise obligatory transfer costs are omitted with this offer. The total leasing costs therefore amount to EUR 10,608 net (EUR 221 times 48) for a four-year term and EUR 6144 net (EUR 256 times 24) for a two-year term – in each case excluding the environmental bonus.
