Cyberpunk 2077: Patch 1.6 brings cross-platform saves

Cyberpunk 2077 gets another major update with patch 1.6. Including cross-platform support.

In February 2022, Cyberpunk 2077 received the next-gen update 1.5 and now the developers are delivering another extensive update with patch 1.6. Patch 1.6 is dubbed the “Edgerunners Update” because it adds some new secrets and items to the game inspired by the Netflix series Cyberpunk 2077: Edgerunners, which launches on September 13th.

Cross-platform progression will be added

Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.6 is available for all platforms the RPG is available for. So Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PC and Google Stadia.

For those who own Cyberpunk 2077 on more than one platform, rejoice as the developers are adding the Cross-Platform Progression feature to the game. This means that all scores are automatically saved in the cloud, so that you can simply continue playing on the PC with the score from the console, for example. This function is interesting, for example, for anyone who plays Cyberpunk 2077 on an (older) console and also wants to take a look at the PC version without having to start over. However, there are also some limitations, which are explained here.

Less new for older consoles

It is also interesting to take a closer look at the release notes for patch 1.6. There are innovations that were not implemented for older console generations, i.e. the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Specifically, the developers explain:

“More new secrets have been added to Night City for players to discover now. Due to technical limitations, this change is not available on older generation consoles.”

Other major additions with patch 1.6 include the “Wardrobe”: in custom apartments and safehouses, the player can now customize V’s appearance while armor values remain the same. Up to six outfits may be put on and changed. In addition, the so-called “Fixers” award three new orders, there are six new firearms and five new melee weapons.

New mini game roach race and cat for photo shoots

Slot machines are scattered throughout Night City to play the new Roach Race mini-game. It’s also available here for Android and here for iOS. Photo mode will also add the ability to take pictures of Nibbles the cat. To do this, select the “Nibbles” entry in the “Character” section of the “Pose” tab. However, there is one requirement: Nibbles must have already moved into V’s apartment in order to be available for photo shoots.
