Dead Island 2: Amazon accidentally leaks details and release date

Amazon accidentally leaked new details and release date for zombie action RPG Dead Island 2.

Since its announcement in 2014, the zombie action RPG Dead Island 2 has had a turbulent development history. After several studio changes, there has been a radio silence about the “Dead Island” successor in recent years, which was surprisingly interrupted this week by online retailer Amazon.

Product listing reveals release date

A product listing for “Dead Island 2” was accidentally published on the online retailer’s website, which included new screenshots and a description of the content as well as a release date for the game. Twitter user

Los Angeles setting and six playable characters

According to the leak, “Dead Island 2” will be released on February 3, 2023 for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The title features six playable characters, each with their own story and abilities. Part two is set in Los Angeles, which has been hit by a zombie epidemic. The city is under quarantine and the military has withdrawn. The six main characters were all bitten, but are immune to the zombie virus. The game description suggests that the protagonists develop special abilities through contact with the virus.

The first official details of the game are expected at this year’s Gamescom, which will take place from August 24th to 28th in Cologne. Dead Island 2 is currently in development at Dambuster Studios.
