Electronic Arts announced the release date for the “Dead Space” remake during a developer stream this week. The game will be released on January 27, 2023 for PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.
Release postponed by four months
The remake was originally supposed to be released in October 2022. However, the developer decided to give the title a little more development time. “Dead Space” sees itself as a remake of the horror franchise from 2008. The development was entrusted to Motive Studios, which had been working on “Star Wars Battlefront II” and “Star Wars: Squardrons” since it was founded six years ago .
Improved graphics and no loading times
In Dead Space, players take on the role of engineer Isaac Clarke, who boards the ghost ship USG Ishimura and must find out what happened to the missing crew. Electronic Arts promises improved graphics based on the Frostbite engine and expanded game mechanics. Thanks to fast SSDs in the new generation of consoles, there should also be no more loading breaks in the remake of “Dead Space”. The developer is planning the next big gameplay reveal for October 2022.
