Did you know that there is an anime about Katrielle Layton? KSM Anime took the rights to the anime adaptation quite some time ago Layton Detective Agency secured. After four volumes, the fifth and final volume * was published a few days ago, completing the series.
Layton Mystery Tanteisha: Katori no Nazotoki File has been broadcast in Japan since April 2018 and offers 50 episodes, the last ten of which are now also available with German dubbing.
In terms of content, the anime is based on the video game Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Conspiracy of Millionaires *, which has also been available in its Nintendo Switch version for some time.
A mysterious house, an enchanted dress and the walking dead? For the young detective Katrielle Layton, all exciting puzzles that need to be deciphered. A wide variety of clients come to her detective agency in London and Katrielle does not tolerate any delay in solving the mysterious cases. But while tending to suspicious bank robbers, missing superheroes, and missing pets, she never loses sight of her real goal.
Katrielle is looking for her father, the famous Professor Layton, who suddenly disappeared without a trace some time ago. And when one day a new client comes to the detective agency with a very personal case, Katrielle receives the first clue about her father. With her fondness for sweet things and pretty clothes you might underestimate her, but in the daughter of Professor Layton is a real master detective who solves even the trickiest cases.
The anime series was directed by Susumu Mitsunaka (Haikyuu !!) at Studio Lidenfilms (Love and Lies). Youko Takada is responsible for character design and Tomohito Nishiura (Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva) provided the soundtrack. You can buy the entire series in the KSM Anime shop.
