In the future, Discord Voice can also be used with an Xbox, as the company announced in a blog post. However, the new feature is not yet available to everyone, but Discord gives an overview of what users can expect.
Soon gamers will be able to connect their Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One consoles to Discord voice chat and communicate directly with friends on Discord via the Xbox mobile app. Of course, Xbox players are not cut off from other Discord users. For example, voice chats can be planned for cross-play sessions with PC and smartphone players.
Only available for insiders for the time being – soon for everyone
Discord Voice features are available now to Xbox Insiders. The function will then be released regularly in the course of the year. Exactly when is not yet certain. If you want to test the feature now, you have to join the Insider program.
How to use Discord with Xbox:
Essentially, gamers (currently Xbox Insiders only) need to give the app the necessary permissions and use the Xbox mobile app. However, Discord has also provided a detailed step-by-step guide on the official support website, which can be found here.
The YouTube channel “Windows Central Gaming” gives a first insight into Discord voice chats on the Xbox. You can see the video here:
