Disney has already started a family-friendly streaming provider with Disney +. Apparently, however, a counterpart with a more adult target group could follow.
We now know a few more details about leaked promo videos that are actually aimed at investors. Of course, all information should be treated with caution. Because Disney itself didn’t confirm it. What is clear, however, is that the company sees its in-house streaming service as its most important content offering of the future. Because in this way you can not only reach customers directly without intermediaries, but also comprehensively evaluate their behavior.
Now it is also said that “Black Widow” could definitely skip the cinema. The Marvel film with Scarlett Johansson had previously been postponed several times. Similar to “Mulan”, it will probably move to a premium area at Disney + and thus initially be chargeable before it is integrated into the regular subscription. This strategy would hardly be a surprise, because the Pixar film “Soul” is now also skipping the cinema and making its debut directly on the streaming offer.
“Black Widow” is said to be available at Disney + on April 16, 2021 via Premier Access – exactly like “Mulan” back then. The price could also be the same and would then probably play at 21.99 euros. Establishing a streaming service for adults would be even more exciting. Films that have been given an R rating in the USA could end up there. Sure candidates would be “Deadpool”, “Kingsman: The Secret Service” or z. B. the “Alien” film series – thanks to the Fox takeover they all belong to Disney.
Information is unsecured
At the moment these are all just rumors and it could also be a fake. It would make sense, however, if Disney didn’t dump its library of films and series that target older audiences. It remains exciting.
