Disney Plus costs 6.99 euros a month. Spread over twelve months, the annual subscription is around 15 percent cheaper * at 69.99 euros. In return, users have access to almost all films and series from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, National Geographic and Star Wars. So far so good.
Star comes to Disney Plus
However, all of that will change soon: Disney Plus is launching the new Star media library on February 23, 2021. This is an area that is primarily intended to appeal to older viewers. This is ensured by 276 new films and 60 additional series from the Disney creative studios (this includes, for example, the US television channels FX and ABC). The new content that subscribers will soon be able to stream on Disney Plus include classics such as “Lost”, “Prison Break” and “Die Hard” as well as exclusive in-house productions, the so-called Star Originals.
So you should subscribe to Disney Plus now
With the launch of Star, not only will the Disney Plus program grow, but membership fees will also increase. Disney Plus will be around 20 percent more expensive. This means that all users who take out their subscription after February 22, 2021 pay EUR 8.99 per month or EUR 89.90 per year * – regardless of whether they want to use Star or not. There is no possibility of booking a basic package without a star.
Tip: Take out an annual subscription for 69.99 euros before Disney Plus gets more expensive on February 23, 2021. *
For existing customers, however, there is a transition phase. All existing Disney Plus users will pay the cheaper fee for at least six months. So if you become a member up to and including February 22, 2021, you will only pay the increased fee from August 22, 2021. And if you book the annual subscription right away, you won’t have to dig deeper into your pocket for twelve months *. So if Disney Plus or Star is interesting for you, we recommend that you become a member now before the prices increase.
