DJI starts selling Mini 3 Pro drone

With the Mini 3 Pro, manufacturer DJI offers a small drone for 4K videos at 60 frames per second.

The new Mini 3 Pro drone from manufacturer DJI is intended to open up new customer groups with 4K videos at 60 frames per second, focus track and other functions. In addition, the Chinese drone manufacturer has improved the camera and introduced new features compared to the previous model. The flight time of the drone, which weighs only 249 grams, is an impressive 34 minutes. DJI specifies the flight distance as 18 kilometers at a speed of 43.2 kilometers per hour. The lightweight Mini 3 Pro can withstand gusts of wind up to a maximum of 10.7 meters per second.

Camera and assistance systems

The centerpiece, however, is the new camera, which can be used to create 4K videos at 60 frames per second. However, the camera system with an aperture of f/1.7 can also take photos with 48 megapixels. If necessary, the built-in camera can be rotated by 90 degrees, which enables vertical recordings in portrait format. To protect the owner and the environment, DJI installed sensors in three directions. There is also the APAS 4.0 assistance system, which automatically recognizes obstacles and avoids them.

Follow mode and remote control

The “Focus Track” mode is also new: Here the pilot selects a subject, which the drone always keeps in the center of the image. As an accessory, DJI also offers a new remote control that uses O3 transmission technology to transmit a live image in full HD resolution over a distance of 12 kilometers. In addition, a touchscreen with 5.5 inches is installed in the DJI RC remote control. So the smartphone can stay in the pocket during the flight. The DJI Mini 3 Pro is scheduled to appear on May 17 and will cost 825 euros. The small drone can already be pre-ordered at Amazon.
