Download Twitter videos in 4 steps – this is how it works

Twitter is an inexhaustible treasure trove for video clips of all kinds: entertaining, educational or of particular historical value. But Twitter does not offer the possibility to download the videos from the tweets directly. No problem: You can still load all videos immediately to your Windows or Linux PC or to your Mac.
Step 1: Right click on the video
Right-click the video you want in a tweet. Then click with the left mouse button on the “Copy Video Address” that appears.

Step 2: insert video address
Open the website https://twdown.net/ in a browser. Copy the video address saved on the clipboard into the field labeled “Enter Video Link…”. Then click on Download.

Copy the image URL into the input field on https://twdown.net/.
Step 3: choose resolution
A page opens with information about the video. Select the desired resolution / video size by clicking on the “Download” button behind it. All videos are saved as MP4.
Step 4: download the video
A new page opens in which the selected video is played. Right-click on it and select “Save video as …” from the context menu of the mouse. Then save the video on your computer under the name you want. Complete.

Now you can start the video from your hard drive. It can be viewed completely offline.
You can also download GIFs from tweets this way. With longer videos, you can also start many downloads one after the other and the individual videos are then downloaded in parallel. All videos land reliably on your computer’s hard drive. This works regardless of your computer’s operating system.
Tip: If the video download suddenly fails
Twdown sometimes goes on strike if you download a large number of videos in quick succession. In this case, you can switch to other Twitter video download portals, which you can easily find via an Internet search. Note, however, that most of these download sites annoy you with intrusive advertising pop-ups or always open new pages to show you advertisements or to impose supposed bargains or gambling subscriptions. Do not click on any of this page lightly, but finally click on the browser tabs that open and only really click on the express download buttons for your videos. These then either end up in a folder of your choice on the PC or automatically in its download folder.
