Drake postpones new album for recovery from surgery and rehab

‘Certified Lover Boy’ will not be released in January anyway. Drake himself announced this via his Instagram Stories. The rapper is too busy recovering after surgery and rehab.

Drake would normally release his brand new album ‘Certified Lover Boy’ this month. But he postponed that release himself. “I was planning to release my album into the world this month,” he wrote on Instagram. “But because of my surgery and rehab my energy is now mainly going to recover. ”

Certified Lover Boy

“I am lucky to be on my feet again. I feel good and I am working on the album. But ‘CLB’ will not come in January ”, Drake explains. The rapper does not give a new release date. But he does emphasize that ‘Certified Lover Boy’ will be released this year. He does this with “I’m already looking forward to sharing it with you in 2021”.

Drake announced his new album last October. But there was more immediately. The God’s Plan-rapper immediately launched a real collection of ‘Certified Lover Boy’ merchandise. It sold out in a few minutes.

Knee surgery?

Drake never officially disclosed what he was operated on. But through photos that appeared on social media, the Canadian has hinted that it was a knee operation. He has shared a photo that clearly shows a knee brace.

It is therefore not yet known when ‘Certified Lover Boy’ will be released. If you can’t wait anymore, you can look back at the teaser of the album. Drake herself shared that last October.

Drake broke another record earlier this month. He is the first artist ever to reach more than 50 billion streams on Spotify.
