Electric cars in the AUTO BILD Podcast: From Fiat 500 to Tesla Model 3

The AUTO BILD podcast “Drive first, then talk” has been available since 2021. The concept is very simple: one car, two editors. Peter Fischer and Jan Götze test a car over a longer period of time and then talk in detail about their experiences. Do you like the design? How good is the processing? What did you notice while driving?

Toyota Mirai (eps. 31)

Exotic alert: In Germany there are currently only two cars with fuel cells available. The Hyundai Nexo and the Toyota Mirai. The second generation of the Japanese has been on the market since 2021 and is almost 15,000 euros cheaper than its predecessor. Where is there something like that? You can hear how Jan and Peter like the design and what the Mirai’s major shortcoming is in the latest episode of “First drive, then talk”!

Opel Corsa-e (eps. 29)

Many electric cars have a futuristic design, sometimes looking like spaceships. The Opel Corsa-e is completely different, which looks practically the same as the combustion engine version. Opel has also been offering the sixth generation of the small car as an electric car since 2020.

VW ID.4 (Episode 22)

With the ID.4, VW has presented its first all-electric SUV. You can hardly tell that the ID.4 is a technical brother of the Skoda Enyaq. In the latest episode of “First drive, then talk”!

Skoda Enyaq (eps. 16)

The Enyaq is Skoda’s first electric SUV and is closely related to the VW ID.4 and the Audi Q4 e-tron. Peter and Jan are testing the top version Enyaq iV 80X, whose two electric motors have an output of 195 kW (265 hp). Both are convinced of the look and the space in the interior, but the crucial question is: Can the Enyaq also cover long distances?

Fiat 500C Electric (eps. 14)

The Fiat 500 is an icon that has been built since 1957. Almost 65 years later, the new Fiat 500 is available as an electric car with a retro design, and that’s exactly what Peter and Jan tested. In the latest episode of “First drive, then talk” you can hear whether the electric drive fits the iconic small car and why the Fiat gives a small concert in some situations!

Hyundai Nexo (eps. 4)

Hydrogen drive and the fuel cell are considered to be the drive of the future. The Hyundai Nexo SUV is one of the first mass-produced vehicles to use this technology. Jan and Peter report on the advantages of the hydrogen drive, the futuristic and at the same time intuitively operated interior and come out as fans of the fuel cell, which – unlike purely electric cars – does not give rise to fear of range.

Tesla Model 3 (Episode 2)

In this episode, Jan and Peter reminisce about their first encounter with Tesla’s Model 3. Long before the “little” Tesla was a part of the street scene in Germany, the two had already driven a Model 3 imported from the USA.

There is praise for the e-car pioneer, but the two also name weaknesses that have stuck in their minds to this day.
