The Volkswagen ID.3 had a market share of 4.5 percent last month. This is evident from the figures of the RAI Vereniging, BOVAG and RDC trade associations. The ID.3 has been officially available in the Netherlands since October.
The Volvo XC40, KIA Niro and Toyota Yaris hybrids were also frequently sold.
Car sales are declining due to corona crisis
Sales of new passenger cars were up nearly 5 percent in November compared to a month earlier. Compared to the same month last year, with 33,499 vehicles, more than 14 percent fewer new passenger cars were registered in November.
Due to the corona crisis, significantly fewer new cars are sold this year: 22 percent less compared to the first eleven months of 2019. The industry associations expect that a total of 350,000 cars will be sold this year. Last year there were almost 100,000 more.
Run on electric cars in December
RAI Vereniging and BOVAG expect “another run on electric cars” in December. This is because the tax addition for business drivers with an electric car will increase from 1 January from 8 percent over the first 45,000 euros to 12 percent over the first 40,000 euros.
