Eura mobile home Profila T 676 EB in the test: That’s why we like it

Sometimes you have to make a virtue out of necessity. Like much of the mobile home industry, Eura Mobil’s business is currently suffering from the fact that the Stellantis Group cannot deliver nearly as many Ducatos as are ordered and needed. And so everyone in Sprendlingen remembered that they had already had good experiences with the Mercedes Sprinter.

In 2005, the Rheinhessen stopped Sternzeit because the Sprinter was simply too expensive for volume models and was only available as a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a sheet metal body or steel frame, which didn’t really harmonize with the Eura body concept. The Sprinter is now available in practically every conceivable variant, including a front-wheel drive tractor unit to which an AL-KO low-frame chassis can be flanged. That’s why the team around Managing Director Holger Siebert chose it as the basis for their upper-class semi-integrated Contura (from 95,540 euros), which celebrated its premiere in 2020 – but it serves a top market segment.

Eura Mobil Profila T 676 EB: The price starts at 79,900 euros

That’s him: The new Profila with Sprinter traction head and AL-KO low frame is a semi-integrated vehicle that is being launched in the upper middle class and is available from 79,900 euros. That’s a good 6,600 euros more than the Profila with a Ducato base. The additional price, as press spokesman Jens Heinrichs explains to us, is not only due to the more expensive basic vehicle, the standard Alde hot water heating system and the AL-KO low frame, which enables a double floor almost 20 centimeters high, also have an impact. This increases the capacity of the storage compartments and the tubs under the floor hatches.

Eura Mobil Profila T 676 EB

Euro Mobil Profila T 676 EB: The mobile home is 7.12 meters long and offers four seats and two beds.

The Sprinter-Profila will initially be offered in two layout variants, both with twin beds and an identical overall length of 7.12 meters. Accordingly, the fully bonded GRP structure is largely identical. Eura Mobil is so convinced of its quality that it guarantees tightness for ten years.

The T 676 EB layout offers beds that are 1.95 meters long

He has: We drive the T 676 EB with the new floor plan in the series – i.e. with a longitudinal kitchen on the passenger side and a washroom opposite. This enables 1.95 meter long twin beds, which can be expanded into a large play area using a pull-out board and a mattress insert. An important selling point for tall people, because with the alternative layout T 696 EB you have to be able to cope with bed lengths of 1.85 and 1.90 metres.

This floor plan offers a more spacious corner kitchen on the driver’s side. We tend to sympathize with the T 676 EB because of the larger bed. It offers a classic semi-dinette with more than acceptable space and furniture with warm wood tones, which Eura describes as a chalet style.

The new Eura mobile home offers a lot of living quality and plenty of storage space.

Our test car is also well equipped. The Mondial package (4590 euros) comes with such nice extras as a driver’s cab air conditioning, monitor receiver including navigation system and reversing camera as well as the sunroof that can be raised in the front roof hood, which lets light and air into the seating area. A TFT monitor is installed where an interior mirror would normally be, which fulfills exactly the function of an interior mirror by permanently displaying the image from the reversing camera. The standard electric waste water drain valve also offers a practical additional benefit.

Noticeably more ride comfort than the Ducato

This is how he drives: Very relaxed. Our test car competes with the powerful 170 hp turbo diesel. The 9G-Tronic automatic converter sorts the gears with the safety of a dream walker and without any noticeable shift jerks. As is typical for Mercedes, the steering works somewhat indirectly, but is still sufficiently accurate. The Sprinter front axle offers noticeably more ride comfort than the Ducato – a not inconsiderable argument for the Profila with the star.
