Exclusively for Japan: Legend of Mana gets a Collector’s Edition

Last week Square Enix did a remaster as part of Nintendo Direct Legend of Mana announced. It will be released on June 24, 2021 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PCs via Steam. Japanese fans can count themselves particularly lucky: An exclusive Collector’s Edition has been announced!

In addition to a physical version of the game, the collector’s edition includes an artbook, a Li’l Catcus plushie and the official soundtrack. It is available for 14,300 yen, which is about 111 euros. According to Square Enix, there are no plans to sell the physical version separately, nor are any plans to release it in the West.

The card is … blank?

In Legend of Mana you go in search of the mystical mana tree. You discover … that the world map is empty. On your journey you will receive artifacts that you can place anywhere on the map. This is how you bring cities and dungeons to life and advance in the story.

Of course you will gather a colorful troop of characters around you, fight against terrible monsters and complete many quests in the world of Fa’Diel. There is rearranged music in the remaster, but you can also choose to listen to the old soundtrack. Visually, the game retains the charm of the original.

There are also a few quality-of-life features. So you can deactivate the enemy encounters and play the mini-game Ring Ring Land for the first time in the west. Legend of Mana will be released on June 24, 2021 and should offer German lyrics.
