In an interview with the gaming magazine IGN, Todd Howard from Bethesda commented on his studio’s current development plans. According to Howard, “The Elder Scrolls VI” is currently still in pre-production, which indicates that the release of the game will probably be a while yet.
After completing The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda plans to begin development on Fallout 5, according to Howard.
“Yes, Elder Scrolls 6 is in pre-production and after that we’ll be making Fallout 5, so our schedule is pretty busy for a while,”
like Howard. Bethesda also has “a few other projects” that the studio considers from time to time.
“Starfield” as the next big game release
The Elder Scrolls VI was announced back in 2018. Bethesda is also currently working on Starfield, which has been in development for over seven years. The release of “Starfield” is currently planned for 2023. Bethesda also supports Fallout 76. The new expansion “The Pitt” will be released soon. It is not known whether the studio’s way of working has changed as a result of the Microsoft takeover and whether more resources may be available for development.
