Vaclav Cerny is with the Czech national team for the first time. His club FC Twente confirms the call of the attacker, who, after goalkeeper Joël Drommel, is the second selection player of the Tukkers to fly out as an international this week.
“This is a very good moment for me”, says the happy Cerny on the club website. “I have worked hard for this and I really see this as a reward. Lately it has been going very well and I was secretly hoping for it. When you are actually there, it feels great.”
The Czech Republic will practice against Germany on Wednesday. After that, the Czechs receive Israel (November 15) and Slovakia (November 18) for the Nations League.
On Sunday it was announced that 23-year-old goalkeeper Joël Drommel may report to the Dutch national team for the first time. It was the first time since 2014 that a selection player from FC Twente is eligible for Orange. At the time, Quincy Promes was selected.
