Is it coming? Isn’t it coming? The rumors of a Ferrari SUV have been around for years. It is now certain: the SUV from Ferrari is coming and even has a name. The so-called “FUV” (Ferrari Utility Vehicle) is called Purosangue (thoroughbred) and is said to be the fastest vehicle in its class. AUTO BILD has all the information about this historic model, especially for Ferrari!
Purosangue with a new V6 turbo
As it currently looks, the Purosangue will replace the GTC4 Lusso model range at Ferrari. The first, heavily camouflaged Erlkönige are already out and about around Maranello. What we know: Ferrari’s first SUV has four doors, but no annoying B-pillars. The Purosangue is powered by the completely newly developed V6 turbo gasoline engine, which is optionally available with a hybrid drive. The system output could be over 700 hp. A V8 or V12 in the Purosangue is rather unlikely, but at the moment not completely ruled out. In addition, the SUV is based on the newly developed front-engine platform, which should also be used for other models in the future. In terms of optics, the Purosangue is likely to be based on the Maserati Levante, the roof line is expected to drop sharply to the rear.
The FUV comes in 2021
In the interior, the SUV will offer all the amenities of a luxury SUV and rely on the new digital cockpit architecture, some of which can already be found in the Roma and the SF90 Stradale. Originally, the Purosangue should come on the market in 2020 at a price of around 300,000 euros. The new Ferrari boss Louis Carey Camilleri has postponed the market launch to 2021to perfect the model.
