Fierce: This Nissan Skyline GT-R costs over 400,000 euros

Nissan Skyline GT-R: Not only JDM fans get a warm heart with this car. In 1989 Nissan relaunched the Skyline top model GT-R and the R32 was a huge success. In the Japanese Touring Car Championship JTCC, the R32 won 29 of 29 races between 1990 and 1993, and the nickname Godzilla was born. The successor R33 and above all the R34 discontinued in 2002 have meanwhile become legendary. The downside is that most GT-Rs and especially the rare special models have now arrived in price regions that seem unattainable for normal earners!

Especially in recent years, Nissan Skyline, Toyota Supra and Co. have experienced an enormous increase in value. In exceptional cases, collectors are even willing to pay seven-digit sums for the most sought-after Skylines, such as the Z-Tune. But other R34s are now really valuable too!

The “Silica Brass” paint job was offered specifically for the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R. Allegedly 131 pieces were delivered in this color.

Only 366 GT-R M-Spec were built

Just like the Skyline R34 GT-R M-Spec, of which only 366 were built. This is ultimately a V-Spec II without a carbon bonnet and with additional comfort features. For example, the “cold weather package” with seat heating was standard.
Under the hood of the M-Spec is of course the legendary RB26, which was already used in the R32 GT-R. The top version is the RB26DETT. Its cryptic name is made up of the engine series (RB), the 2.6 liter displacement (26), the two overhead camshafts (D = DOHC, Dual Overhead Camshaft), the electronically controlled injection (E) and the twin-turbo charging ( TT). Due to the voluntary self-restraint in Japan (“gentlemen’s agreement”) in force at the time, the Japanese officially specified the power as 280 hp, which is more than modest, as most fans know. In reality, the performance tended towards 330 hp.

The RB26 has incredible reserves of power

Nissan didn’t even try to hide the fact that the engine is good for significantly more power. Simply by adjusting the fuel and boost pressure, 500 hp are easily possible. The last 1000 R34 GT-R (V-Spec II Nur and M-Spec Nur) were delivered with the RB26DETT in the N1 version.

Although there are minimal signs of wear on the interior, the interior looks almost new.

All GT-R M-Spec interiors were fitted with gold stitching on the steering wheel, shift knob and handbrake lever, and Nissan introduced a striking gold tone (“silica bass”) especially for the special model.

R34 GT-R with only 372 kilometers

According to our information, 131 of the 366 M-Spec customers opted for the new color and just such a rare Skyline GT-R is currently being auctioned in its home country of Japan. As if that wasn’t special enough, the 20-year-old Skyline has hardly been moved at all in recent years. The result: the speedometer shows a measly 372 kilometers. However, the description of the ad mentions minor defects such as a discharged battery, a small dent in the driver’s door and minimal signs of wear on the driver’s seat.

These small things are easy to fix, so it’s little wonder that this rare R34 GT-R, with just 372 kilometers, already has a starting bid of the equivalent of 421,740 euros (60 million yen) and will therefore remain out of reach for most fans.
