Filmfriend: Library users stream films for free

The paid video services Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV Plus, Sky & Co. have enjoyed great popularity for years.

But with Filmfriend there is an alternative that many people probably do not know that they can watch films there without additional fees. The video-on-demand platform is available to registered users of many German city libraries.

A list of the libraries and universities with a Filmfriend access can be found on the Filmfriend website under the heading “About Us”. The content ranges from German classics and sophisticated documentaries to international art house cinema and children’s series. In addition, there is background information on the filmmakers, i.e. on the directors, producers and actors.
